RESOLUTION #1:
Verify that the volume where the SQL database resides has enough free space. Free up space on the disk if required.
RESOLUTION #2:
Run the Purge DB script attached to this article.
In order to clean up the database with the PurgeDB script, please follow these steps:
- Please make sure no backups/replications jobs are running.
- Stop vRanger services from top to bottom (Start -> Run -> Services.msc -> Quest vRanger service).
- Backup the current vRanger DB,
- Start SQL Management Studio and connect to the SQL instance.
- Click on the plus next to Databases
- Right-click on the vRangerPro DB, click on Tasks, and click on Back Up...
- In the backup wizard, you can change the location of the backup destination if you do not want to use the default path and press "Ok".
- Download the PurgeDB script and using SQL Management Studio, Drag-and-Drop it on top of the vRangerPro database to load the script.
- The script will be default set to run in Test mode, please execute it to confirm it will be successful first, then modify the below settings to run the script
- SET @test_run = 1 (Change this to "0" to run the script).
- Execute the script. this time it will take longer compared to the test run.
- After it completes, you can start the vRanger services from bottom to top. Retry a backup job.
