RESOLUTION 1:
Edit registry and printer driver info. Administrator privileges are required in order to do the following steps:
*Quest Software does not provide support for problems that arise from improper modification of the registry. The Windows registry contains information critical to your computer and applications. Make sure you back up the registry before modifying it. For more information on the Windows Registry Editor and how to back up and restore it, refer to Microsoft Article ID 256986 “Description of the Microsoft Windows registry” at Microsoft Support.
1. Open Regedit, Start | Run | "regedit"
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers
3. Under Drivers is "Version-3" (on the right, the sub-keys under here contain the printer driver configuration information), rename the XEROX printer driver sub-key.
4. Open a Command Prompt window
5. From the command prompt window, run the following command:
net stop spooler [enter]
6. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\printers and rename any files there. (By default, this is where the print spooler stores print files)
7. Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 and rename all of the files and sub-folders as well.
8. Start the print spooler by running the following in Command Prompt:
net start spooler [enter]
WORKAROUND 2:
Review firewall and antivirus setup. Include Toad as an exception.
WORKAROUND 3:
Reinstalling the printer software and drivers.
