Managing searches

In all the Search dashboards, you can save and rerun searches. You can also clear search results from the table.

Repeating the last search

To repeat the last search performed in a Search dashboard, click Search. The search parameters appear at the top of the dashboard beside Search Description, and the number of matches appears beside Search Results. The matches (if any) are listed in the table.

Saving searches

For the searches that you perform frequently, consider saving them. You can shared saved searches among people with the same user role. For example, an APM Administrator can create searches useful to APM Operators and share them by selecting that user role.
To save a search:

Define and run a search.

Click Save Search.
The Save Search dialog box opens.

Specify a name for the search.

Choose whether you want the search available only to you (current user account) or available to everyone with a specific user role. In the latter case, select the user role from the list.

Click Save.
The dialog box closes. On the Search Hits dashboard, the parameters for the loaded search appear beside Search Description. The search results are not updated yet.

To run the loaded search, click Search.
The search results display matches (if any).

Running saved searches

Saved searches can help ensure that you run consistent searches. For example, you may run a search, find data issues, make a configuration change, and then want to rerun the same search. If you save the initial search, you can be sure that the second set of results reflect just the configuration change, not any inadvertent changes in the search parameters.
To run a saved search:

Click Load Saved Search.
The Load Saved Search dialog box opens.

In the row containing the search you want to run, click Load .
The dialog box closes. On the Search Hits dashboard, the parameters for the loaded search appear beside Search Description. The search results are not updated yet.

To run the loaded search, click Search.
The search results display matches (if any).
