ASM simplifies the administration of Oracle data files by defining storage in terms of logical units called disk groups, where each disk group is a set of disk devices. This page categorizes ASM storage data by individual disks within a disk group.

I/O by Disk
I/O by Disk displays the I/O activity for every disk in the chosen ASM disk group associated with the
Service Time by Disk
Service Time by Disk shows the actual service time provided by every disk in the chosen ASM disk group assigned to the
Disk Details Grid
Disk Details displays the list of disks in the ASM disk group specified in the Diskgroup list above, and provides a table of disk-related ASM statistics.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Disk # | The number assigned to an ASM disk within its disk group. |
Name | The name of the disk. |
Path | The operating-system pathname for the disk. |
Mount Status | The mount status of the disk (MISSING, CLOSED, OPENED, CACHED, IGNORED, or CLOSING). |
Size | The total capacity of the ASM disk. |
Free | The unused capacity of the ASM disk. |
Total Reads | The total number of I/O read requests for the disk. |
Reads/s | The rate of I/O read requests for the disk. |
Total Writes | The total number of I/O write requests for the disk. |
Writes/s | The rate of I/O write requests for the disk. |
Service Time (ms) |
The service time for each disk (in milliseconds). Note: Service time is the response time of a disk plus any wait time experienced during disk operations. |
PCT of Total IO | The number of I/O operations performed by the disk as a percentage of all I/O performed by all disks in all ASM disk groups assigned to the |
Header Status | The status of the disk at discovery (UNKNOWN, CANDIDATE, INCOMPATIBLE, PROVISIONED, MEMBER, FORMER, CONFLICT, or FOREIGN). |
Mode Status | The kind of access permitted to the disk (UNKNOWN, ONLINE, or OFFLINE). Read/write access is permitted only to ONLINE disks; OFFLINE disks still remain part of their disk group. |
State | The state of the disk relative to its ASM disk group (UNKNOWN, NORMAL, ADDING, DROPPING, HUNG, FORCING, or DROPPED). |
Redundancy | The external redundancy of the disk (UNKNOWN, UNPROT, MIRROR, or PARITY). |
Fail Group | The name of the failure group that contains the disk. |
Label | The label portion of the disk name at discovery. |
Create Date | The date and time when the disk was added to the disk group. |
Mount Date | The date and time when the disk was first mounted. |
Read Errors | The total number of failed I/O read requests for the disk. |
Write Errors | The total number of failed I/O write requests for the disk. |
Read Time | The total time spent on I/O read requests. |
Write Time | The total time spent on I/O write requests. |
PCT Size | The size of the disk as a percentage of the size of all disks in all ASM disk groups associated with the |
