nvlicenseinfo

Provides license information for the NetVault Server.

nvmeddbcheck

Verifies the structural, entity, and referential integrity of the Media Database. It checks the following:

Lists various records stored in the Media Database. The output includes the following items:

You can use this option to determine which records should be deleted.

Check

Performs database checks, and displays the status. You can use -v with this option to specify the minimum severity level of messages that are displayed.

-v

Specifies the minimum severity level of messages that are displayed. -v can take the following values:

all: All messages
back: Background messages
inf: Information messages
job: Job messages
warn: Warnings
error: Errors
severe: Severe errors

When you set the severity level, only messages at that level and higher are displayed.

Compact

Performs database checks, and removes inconsistent and invalid entries identified during the Check phase. You can use the -v and -f options with this option. -v lets you specify the minimum severity level of messages that are displayed; -f lets you purge retired RAS segments and indexes.

-f

Purges retired RAS segments and indexes from the Media Database. This option can only be used with the Compact option.

nvpassword

Changes NetVault password for server or client on which this utility is run. This utility is available in the <NetVault home>\bin directory.

nvpluginpreconfig

The nvpluginpreconfig utility allows you to create or modify NetVault Plug-in for MySQL and NetVault Plug-in for SQL Server configuration from command line interface. This utility can run on NetVault server or client. For more information on configuration details for a specific plug-in, see the relevant plug-in user’s guide.

--plugin

Specifies the plug-in name to be configured.

mssql: Specifies the Plug-in for SQL Server to be configured.
mysql: Specifies the Plug-in for MySQL to be configured.

Options for configuring Plug-in for SQL Server

--mssqlloginmode

Specifies the login mode.

windows: Windows login mode.
sqlserver: SQL server login mode.

Options for configuring Plug-in for MySQL

--mysqledition

Specifies edition.

--mysqlcharset

Specifies any of the following default character set.

latin1, big5, dec8, cp850, koi8r, hp8, latin2, swe7, ascii, ujis, sjis, hebrew, tis620, euckr, koi8u, gb2312, greek, cp1250, gbk, latin5, armscii8, utf8, ucs2, cp866, keybcs2, macce, macromn, cp852, latin7, cp1251, cp1256, cp1257, binary, geostd8, cp932

--backupmethod

Specifies any of the following backup methods:

--mysqlreplication

Specifies ‘enable’ or ‘disable’ replication. The values that can be used are TRUE or FALSE.

--mysqlreplicationslave

The values that can be used are TRUE or FALSE.

--mysqlreplicationmaster

The values that can be used are TRUE or FALSE.
