General Version Control Options

Use the Version Control section of the Options dialog to review or modify options for each version control configuration. To learn how to configure version control in Toad, see About Version Control.

Use the Version Control section of the Options dialog to review or modify options for your version control configuration. To learn how to configure version control for files in Toad, see Version Control for Toad Files.

To specify general version control options

1. Select Tools | Options | Version Control | General.
2. If you configured version control for files, you can select Prompt to Commit on close to instruct Toad to remind you to commit your changes each time you close a modified file. The prompt is enabled only for supported files located in the repository.

To specify version control configuration options

1. Select Tools | Options | Version Control | Configurations.

2. Most of the fields in this page are read-only and can be specified only through the Version Control Wizard. Review the following for additional information:

   Configuration name	Select a configuration to review or modify. Notes: If you delete an existing configuration, you must use the Version Control wizard to create a new configuration. You can enable or disable version control.
   Server	Displays the path to the version control provider. For TFS, displays the server where your version control provider is installed and the port number (default is 8080) to use in the following format: http://MyServer:Port for TSF 2005, 2008 http://MyServer:Port/TFS for TFS 2010 For Apache Subversion™, displays the root working folder used for the version control repository. For File System Based, displays a directory on your local HDD that is configured for version control in any third party application.
   Username/ Password	Enter login information for the version control provider.

4. Click Apply to apply your changes.

Tips:

• To navigate to the directory where option settings are stored, click the Application Data Directory link in the About dialog (Help | About).

• To search for a partial or complete option name or value, use the Search field at the bottom of each Options page. See About Options for more information.
