About NetVault Backup Command Line Interface

NetVault Backup offers a Command Line Interface that can be used to configure and manage your NetVault Backup system from command prompt or terminal session. You can use the NetVault Backup CLI to perform various tasks such as the following:

The NetVault Backup CLI can be accessed from the NetVault Server and Client machines.

Working with command-line utilities

The command-line utilities are located in the util directory (<NetVault Backup home>\util on Windows and <NetVault Backup Home>/util on Linux). A few specialized utilities are also located in the bin directory <NetVault Backup home>\bin on Windows and <NetVault Backup Home>/bin on Linux). The CLI commands are non-blocking. The term “non-blocking” means that a response to the command is returned before the action has completed; this allows for continuous running of various commands.
