Does Spotlight for DB2 require an agent on AIX for DB2 V9.7? (4278933)

QUESTION:

1. Does Spotlight for DB2 require an agent on AIX for db2 V9.7 We have just upgraded from db2 8.2 to db2 9.7 and wanted to know if those agents we had installed on the AIX machines need to be upgraded.

2. If we don't need them, how to we uninstall them?

3. Although our spotlight is at the newer release, the agents were not upgraded. How do I tell what level the agents are?

ANSWER:

1. Agent installation is not required on a given DB2 server when any of these conditions
exist:
†The database server is DB2 for LUW 9.1 or later.
†The DB2 for LUW 8.x database server and Spotlight client are on the same
machine.
†You do not intend to monitor SMS tablespaces on the database server.
2. How to uninstall the agent:
Login to server where agent was installed
cd $QUESTHOME
QcAgent -stop
pwd
You can remove/rename the directory shown on pwd command
3. Find the file qcversions.txt on directory $QUESTHOME
