KACE Desktop Authority

KACE Desktop Authority is planning an early 2019 major release (v11) which will be using a different license generator than the one used for all prior product versions.

How does this affect me?

You will need to obtain a new license in order to upgrade your software.

Resolution

In order to upgrade to version 11, you must obtain a new license file which can be accessed in one of two ways:  (Note: 9.X and 10.X licenses will NOT be compatible with version 11)

Option 1:

  • Register KACE Desktop Authority in My Account prior to version 11 availability.
  • Add your current KACE Desktop Authority license if you know your pre-version 11 license number.
  • Once version 11 is available for download your inputted legacy license can programmatically be updated to the new license. 

Option 2:

  • Once version 11 is available for download, and prior to installation of the new version, contact Quest Licensing to obtain your new KACE Desktop Authority license. Please allow at least one full business day to process your request.

You can run versions older than version 11 using your perpetual legacy licenses, regardless of your support maintenance status.

Status

Once KACE Desktop Authority 11 is available for download, Quest will send out a new product version release notification.

Quest recommends that you plan to upgrade your product once version 11 is available, to continue to obtain all future product features and functionality. To determine the current support phase of your product, please refer to the KACE Desktop Authority life cycle table.
