Description:
Replication fails with message - "Unable to create socket error - TCP 11004 Error"
Symptoms:
Replication is not working properly with transactions in a pending state. In Windows application log, there are two repeating errors relating to nvr_xfer. First one indicates that states “Unable to create socket, [error code 203 ].” The next error is “The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found. (error 11004), [error code 0 ].”
This error implies some kind of naming resolution (DNS) issue in your environment. Please make sure that DNS is configured properly and that both machines can resolve properly via DNS as well as reverse DNS.
Alternatively, entries can be made in the local host file on both machines to resolves name via host files, or IP Addresses can be input into the Replicator configuration files in place of host names.
