The Quest Collaboration Services (QCS) GUI events and the ACSAlert.log file contains the follow messages:
Information :<Sync Service> (15473) Synchronization Service entered the running state.
Warning :<Exchange Layer> (32622) Error occurred while retrieving data from the Exchange server. [ 0x80004005 ( Unspecified error[EIP: 0x0042C72E,0x0040C6F9]) ]
Warning :<Exchange Layer> (32622) Error occurred while retrieving data from the Exchange server. [ 0x80004005 ( Unspecified error[EIP: 0x0042C72E,0x0040C6F9]) ]
Information :<Sync Service> (15474) Synchronization Service is shutting down.
This sequence of messages are repeated in the events in the GUI and the ACSAlerts.log file.
The mailbox used by the service account has reached its send and receive limits.
The value0x80004005 istranslated to MAPI Error Code,MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED. Please see List of Extended MAPI numeric result codes -http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238119/
As the error MAPI_E_CALL_FAILED is usually associated with the limits of a mailbox, then the Prohibit send(K) and Prohibit send and receive(K) settings need to be set to a higher value
To allow QCS to function properly please do the following:
1. Stop all of the QCS services.
2. Clear the service account mailbox of all e-mail messages.
3. Re-start all of the services.
As both any publication or subscription may be out of date, please do a republish of your publications and request a re-publish of any subscriptions.
Testing of the mailbox and service account via the QCS properties works fine. MFCmapi.exe can connect to the service account mailbox without any problem. Rebooting the QCS server does not fix the issue.
