When installing Unified Communications Diagnostics you may receive the error:
The SQL Authentication credentials could not be verified
Error code = -2147217843
Error message = IDispatch error #3149
Error source = Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Error description = Login failed for user 'USER'
Source = Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, Desc = Login failed for user 'USER'., SQL state = 42000, Native error =18456, Error = -2147217843
This can occur if you try to install Spotlight on Messaging on a remote SQL server and the SpotlightManagementFramework database has not been created
OR
The password you are using is too long and has too many special characters.
