When attempting to login to the KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA) an error may be received related to a licensing issue:
Depending on which error is received, there will be a different Activation Status:
While these situations may seem similar, they have different root causes and thus different resolutions.
Usage Exceeded: This is caused by our records indicating there are too many total active boxes or too many production boxes using the same license key. Generally, there are two reasons this happens:
Expired: This is generally caused by the expiration date being in the past. If the expiration date falls before Today's Date, the license would be expired.
Please gather the following information to include in the request: License Key used, as well as Serial Number and MAC for each VM which should remain active (up to 3 instances).
All other VMs will be set to Deactivated. Please note if they continue to check in, the exceeded usage issue may return.
