The number of machines listed in Managed Devices (within the last 3 days) is incorrect.
The licensing count shown on the Registration page is a reflection of how many machines have checked in the previous 72 hours. There are times when the license count may be at zero or another very low (well below your license count) number. The most common cause of this is an issue with one of the KACE Desktop Authority (KDA) folders on the KDA server.
Follow the steps below:
1. Close the Kace Desktop Authority Manager Console.
2. Stop the “Desktop Authority Operations Service” on the KDA server.
3. On the KDA Server go to C:\Program Files (x86)\ScriptLogic\Desktop Authority Manager\OpsMasterService.
For version 9.2+ go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Desktop Authority\Desktop Authority Manager\OpsMasterService
For version 10.1+ go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\Desktop Authority\Desktop Authority Manager\OpsMasterService
4. Check size and file count of ETLFileRepository folder.
* If size is excessively large (more than 1GB) rename the ETLFileRepository folder to ETLOLD (it can be deleted later).
* If the size is under 1GB go inside the folder and verify the date/time stamps on the files. There should not be any files older than one day, if so delete them.
5. On the KDA server open C:\Program Files (x86)\ScriptLogic\Desktop Authority Manager\ETL.ini.
For version 9.2+ open:C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\Desktop Authority\Desktop Authority Manager\ETL.ini .
For version 10.1+ open:C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest\Desktop Authority\Desktop Authority Manager\ETL.ini .
This file should contain each server that is listed in DA’s Server Manager that has the Administrative Service installed. In the example below the Administrative service is installed on ST2-DC2-2K8R2.
Copy each path shown in this file after the “=” and paste it in Start | Run.
As shown below paste the server name “\\st2-dc2-2k8r2/slETL$” into the run line.
Make sure that there are no old files (greater than one hour) in the slETL$ folder. If there are old files there, delete them. Do this for each path listed in the ETL.ini file.
6. Start the “Desktop Authority Operations Service” on the DA server. The files in the slETL$ folders will get moved to the new ETLFileRepository folder for processing.
7. Once things are moving again, open a command prompt and run this command “RMDIR ETLOLD /S /Q” to delete the old ETLFileRepository folder. This should be done after hours because it will take up some CPU and time.
Within 24-48 hours the Registration screen should display an accurate count of licenses.
