Unable to delete GPO's after upgrade to 5.20.1.5
In this situation, the server and client update for GPOADmin 5.20.1.5 failed to update one file that should have been updated resulting in the crash when deleting a GPO.
The client-only update does correct this and can be installed atop the server and client update to resolve the issue. We have tested this setup and verified that installing both updates will not impact product functionality or the ability to update the application in the future. The only impact is that if you wish to remove the 5.20.1.5 update manually it will need to be removed twice.
workaround:
1) Install the 5.20.1.5 client and server update on each of your GPOADmin servers by running "GPOADmin_Server_And_Client_Update_1.EXE". After this check the installation directory for the file "GPOADmin.SnapIn.dll" and note that it is still on version 5.20.0.5. This is the client file which must be updated.
2) Install the 5.20.1.5 Client Update on the same machines by running "GPOADmin_Client_Update_1.EXE". Now verify that the file "GPOADmin.SnapIn.dll" has been updated to 5.20.1.5.
3) Update any clients that are not on GPOADmin service host machine by running "GPOADmin_Client_Update_1.EXE"
Now that all machines have been updated, deletes will function as expected. Note there are no issues with installing the client-only update on top of the client and server update as the net change will be to update a single file on the second update, and that file is only used by the GPOADmin client.
A defect has also been logged to ensure this issue is corrected for future versions/updates to GPOADmin. The defect ID is 539896
