A user who wants to add SQL Server for monitoring with Active Directory authentication by using Foglight Agent Manager with AD (Active Directory) in place, once the user specifies the credentials, the FglAM will try to connect to the server with user from FglAM's service, not the AD user that is specified.
This does not occur on Windows FglAMs.
An error similar to the following appears in the SQL Server installer log file
Failed to establish a SQL-Server JDBC connection protocol to Host [HOSTNAME\DEFAULT_INSTANCE], user account [DOMAIN\USER] . Reason : [Login failed for user 'DOMAIN\SERVICEUSER$'. ClientConnectionId:3375a3fc-7449-46fb-beb6-21a79d01a5d0- Profile:MSSQLProfile{host='HOSTNAME', instance= 'DEFAULT_INSTANCE', username='DOMAIN\USER', authType= 'WINDOWS_CUSTOM', port= '0' useNTLMv2= 'false', socketTimeout= '900', database= 'master', secureConnection= 'OFF', packetSize= '0', ApplicationIntent= 'NONE', enforceSSLVersion= 'NONE', lockTimeout= '10000', codePageOverride = '', selectMethod='' }]. .
