You would like to change the Service Account Passwords. What would be the correct procedure for doing so?
If the service account passwords have been changed, these change must be reflected in multiple places for Archive Manager to continue to operate.
Resolution:
Change the passwords in the services console:
1. Click Start | Run and type services.msc
2. For each of the Archive Manager Services do the following:
a) Stop the service
b) Double click the service
c) Click the "Log On" tab
d) Type the new password
e) Click OK
f) Start the service
3. Close the services console
Change the passwords for Application Pools in IIS:
For Windows 2008 and Later
1. Open the IIS Management console
2. Click Application Pools
3. For each of the Archive Manager Application Pools do the following:
a) Right Click | Stop
b) Right Click | Advanced Settings
c) Scroll down and click 'Identity'
d) On the far right hand side of the Identity row, click the ellipsis (...) button
e) Make a note of the account name and then click Set
f) Enter the username and password in both the 'Password' and 'Confirm password' fields and click OK
g) Click OK, then OK again
4. Close the IIS console
5. From the command prompt type 'iisreset' and press 'Enter'.
Change any SQL server services running under an Archive Manager service account:
(This need to be done, only if the existing SQL services are running using the Archive Manager service accounts)
1. On the AM SQL server, click Start | Run and type services.msc
2. For each of SQL service running with an AM service account do the following:
a) Stop the service
b) Double click the service
c) Click the "Log On" tab
d) Type the new password
e) Click OK
f) Start the service
3. Close the services console
