InTrust Manager attempts to connect to an old InTrust server that is no longer available -
Description
In InTrust Manager, when right-clicking InTrust Manager, selecting "Connect to...", and then selecting InTrust Organization. The connection fails with an error similar to the following:
Cannot connect to InTrust Server <InTrust_Server_name> using the following connection options: 'ncacn_ip_tcp:8340'
Reason: The InTrust Server is unavailable.

Cause
If the InTrust server listed in the error no longer exists in the environment, then the serviceConnectionPoint object associated with the server was not removed from Active Directory when the InTrust server was retired. -
Resolution
Follow these steps to remove the serviceConnectionPoint object for the old InTrust server from Active Directory:- On a Domain Controller, open Active Directory Users and Computers
- Click View | Advanced Features
- Go to the System | Quest InTrust container
- There will be a serviceConnectionPoint object listed for each InTrust server in the Domain
- Right-click the first serviceConnectionPoint object in the list and select Properties
- Click the "Attribute Editor" tab
- Locate the "displayName" attribute and confirm the name of the server
- Repeat steps 5 to 7 for each serviceConnectionPoint object until the serviceConnectionPoint for the old InTrust server is identified
- Right-click the serviceConnectionPoint object for the old InTrust server and select Delete
- Retry connecting to the InTrust organization in InTrust Manager
