If an Outlook user clicks OK or Apply after managing (and optionally changing) rules in the target, they see this error:
After dismissing the error, the next attempt to manage rules results in this warning:
The rules on this computer do not match the rules on Microsoft Exchange.
Only one set of rules can be kept. You will usually want to keep the rules on the server.
Which rules do you want to keep? [Client] [Server]
If the user chooses Server, sync'd rules look good, but can't be saved. Dismissing with OK or Apply results in the "...cannot be uploaded..." error again.
If the user chooses Client, the sync'd rules are shown as disabled, but they can be enabled, and dismissing with OK or Apply resolves the issue.
Thus, Outlook users need to do this after cutover:
* Manage Rules & Alerts.
* Click OK.
* Dismiss "...cannot be uploaded" error.
* Manage Rules & Alerts again.
* Choose Client.
* Re-enable disabled rules.
* Click OK.
