How to monitor the DB size while the Netvault database restore is running on Linux?
There's a way to monitor the db size while the database is being restore in Linux servers
When you run a Netvault database restore we must wait for the service to be stopped to make sure the restore is running.
With this command we can check the db folder size while the restore is running, that way you can see how the db is growing.
Please run the next command under /usr/netvault directory
[root@localhost netvault]# watch -n2 du -sh db
[root@localhost netvault]# watch -n1 du -sh db
[root@localhost netvault]#
You can use any of those 2 commands, the watch -n1 or n2 updates the du -sh db output every 1 or 2 seconds. If you want to use any other value feel free to do it.
Please see attachment of this command, to see how it looks when the db size is being updated during the restore.
