Issue
Why are my users migrating from the wrong Domino server or to the wrong Exchange server? ( Unable to find path to server )
We Imported our Domino users into Notes Migrator (CMTe), and we started a pilot migration. We realized migration times were slow due to migrating over a WAN. We set up a Domino "Staging" server with replicas of the mail databases.
We ran the CMT "Match" process again, so all the CMTe user documents have the updated server information, but when we migrate, we are getting the following errors:
Error: Unable to open mail file CN=XXXX/OU=XXXXX/O=XXXXX!!mail\name for User Name on server CN=XXXXX/OU=XXXXX/O=XXXXX, CN=XXXXX/OU=XXXXXX/O=XXXXX!!mail\user (CN=XXXXX/OU=XXXXX/O=XXXX!!mail\user) - Unable to find path to server. To trace this connection, use File - Preferences - User Preferences - Ports - Trace (Notes client) or Trace command (Domino server)
Solution
This is caused when a migration was started with the original server name, then changed in the Notes Migrator database in Notes to use another source.
The updated server information within the CMTe person documents do not "push" down to the back-end user record.
The back-end documents must be deleted. CMTe will create a new back-end record with the updated server information when the next migration is scheduled.
For 4.x versions
Change to the Advanced Migration view
Select the users to clear their back-end SQL user records
Click 'Clear or Reset user(s) - Remove backend user record" view action
For 3.8.1:
Remove the back-end user record.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Restart the IIS server. from the command prompt ( iisreset )
In Notes, reset the user and try migrating the users..
For 3.7.x and older versions:
Start the CMT Universal interface from the Control Center desktop:
Click on "Users" button
Remove the user from the queue:
Close CMT Universal
-----------------------------
Return to Notes Migrator (CMTe) within the Notes interface, and restart your migration.
