This cumulative update package contains all hotfixes for Quest Migration Manager for Active Directory 8.15 issues that have been

included in the earlier updates:

• (MMAD-177) Generated passwords: Previously, 14 characters was the largest value you could set set for the lower bound on the
• generated password length. This value is increased to 16. That is, while performing migration sessions you can now specify
• that generated passwords must be at least 16 characters long.
• (MMAD 238173) Directory Synchronization Agent Log: The template was updated to improve accessibility. The 'lang=en'
• attribute was added to assist screen readers and automatic translation, and the header background color was changed to improve the contrast ratio.
• (MMAD 242820) Preinstalled Service feature: The scripts for this feature were updated to support x86 or x64 PowerShell.
• (MMAD 254107) RUM Controller: An issue where the RUM Controller could produce dumps if an agent connected to it
• during a narrow startup window was corrected, so that agents cannot connect until the controller is fully ready for them to do so.
• (MMAD 254130) Custom attributes for Exchange: Mappings for ms-Exch-Extension-Attribute-16 tp ms-Exch-Extension-Attribute-45
• were added to the schemas used for Exchange 2013 and above to make it easier to use these attributes when required.

• (MMAD 231540) A contact can now be merged with the target user during directory synchronization, regardless of which

• domain in the target forest the contact belongs to. Previously the merging with contacts worked only inside the target

• domain itself.

  To enable this feature add the following key to the registry (if it does not exist) on a computer where DSA is running with

• the ForestLinkEnabled="1" registry value of the String type:

  • 32-bit operating system: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aelita\Migration Tools\CurrentVersion\Components\
  • MBRedirector
  • 64-bit operating system: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Aelita\Migration Tools\CurrentVersion\
  • Components\MBRedirector
• Resource Updating Manager now can work even in a network configuration with the NetBIOS protocol disabled. To use this
• feature, on all computers with the Resource Updating Manager console create a new UseNetBIOS DWORD value in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Aelita\Migration Tools\CurrentVersion\Resource Updating Manager
• registry key and set it to "0". The change takes effect after restarting the QsRUMController service and the Resource Updating
• Manager console.
  Cached Credentials Utility is also verified to work in such environments.
• Cached Credentials Utility can now process computers even if they are already in a target domain.
• Migration Manager now supports migration to Microsoft Office 365 tenants where Basic Authentication is turned off.
• This change is intended to support disabling Basic Authentication announced by Microsoft. Basic Authentication will
• be superseded by Modern Authentication (based on OAuth 2.0) supported by Migration Manager for Active Directory.
• The new DiscoveredLastLoggedOnUser property was introduced for computer objects returned by the Get-RumComputer 
• cmdlet of Resource Updating Toolkit for PowerShell (PowerRUM).
• The new Discovered last logged-on user column is added to the Computers tab (for Collection and Category) in the Resource
• Updating Manager console. The column contains a name of the last user who has successfully logged on to the computer
• and is filled in during the discovery process.
• Migration Manager can now process Microsoft SQL Server permissions using SQL Processing Wizard even if TLS protocol
• versions 1.0 and 1.1 are disabled.

Additional software for Microsoft SQL Server processing if TLS 1.0 is disabled: Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server. The driver

can be downloaded from Microsoft Download Center.

Installing this update

To install the update:

1. Stop all synchronization, migration and delegated migration jobs that may be in progress.
2. Stop all SQL Processing Tasks that may be in progress.
3. Close all SQL Processing Wizard instances that may be started.
4. Wait until all resource processing tasks running without agents are finished.
5. Uninstall SQL Processing Tasks on the computers where Migration Manager, version 8.15, standalone Resource Updating
6. Manager 8.15, Resource Updating Toolkit for PowerShell (PowerRUM) 8.15, or Migration Manager for Active Directory
7. (Microsoft Office 365) are not installed.
8. Close Migration Manager console if it is running before the update installation.
9. Close Resource Updating Manager console before the update installation.
10. Install this update on the computer where Migration Manager 8.15, Directory Synchronization Agent 8.15, Resource Updating
11. Toolkit for PowerShell (PowerRUM) 8.15, standalone Resource Updating Manager 8.15, or Migration Manager for Active
12. Directory (Microsoft Office 365) is installed.
13. Create and re-install all necessary SQL Processing Tasks.
14. Upgrade all RUM agents that have the Agent version is incorrect status. For more details about upgrade procedure, see
15. the Upgrade Guide document.
16. Upgrade all Directory Migration Agents. For more details about upgrade procedure, see the Upgrade Guide document.
17. If you have Migration Manager for Exchange in your environment, it is also required to install the latest Migration Manager
18. for Exchange update.
19. Restart necessary SQL Processing Wizard instances and SQL Processing Tasks.

The next steps are only applicable when using the Preinstalled Service feature:

14. After the update is installed on computers with Migration Manager 8.15, Preinstalled Service.zip appears in the
15. %ProgramFiles%\Quest Software\Migration Manager\Common\BIN\DeployDistr folder. The network location of this
16. folder is \\QMM_host\DSASetup.
17. If you already use the Preinstalled Service feature, extract all four .ps1 files from Preinstalled Service.zip to the
18.  Preinstalled Service subfolder in the same folder. They should replace the existing .ps1 files. Then replace old
19. copies of those files on your DCs with these new versions.
    If you are going to use the Preinstalled Service feature for the first time, extract Preinstalled Service.zip to the 
20. Preinstalled Service subfolder in the same folder instead of copying that folder from the Migration Manager
21. installation CD as described in the first step in the Using Preinstalled Service Feature documentation and then
22. follow the remaining instructions from that documentation.

The next steps are only applicable for Cached Credentials Utility updating:

1. After the update is installed on the computers with Migration Manager 8.15, Cached Credentials Utility.zip appears in
2. %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Quest Software\Migration Manager\Common\BIN\DeployDistr folder. This location is also available
3. by network in \\Updated_QMM815_host\DSASetup.
4. Extract the Cached Credentials Utility distributive from Cached Credentials Utility.zip.
5. Uninstall previous versions of the Cached Credentials Utility and deploy the updated version on all necessary workstations
6. as described in Cached Credentials Utility Administrator Guide.

This hotfix updates the following files, compared to the Quest Migration Manager for Active Directory 8.15 release:

This hotfix provides the following files in Preinstalled Service.zip to replace the like-named files from the Migration Manager

installation CD.

This hotfix provides the following files in Cached Credential Utility.zip:

NOTE: On computers running 32-bit Microsoft Windows, the files updated by this update are located in the hierarchy of the

%ProgramFiles% folder.
