While there are no specific Antivirus exceptions for GPOADmin as a product, there are exceptions that should be in place for proper GPO processing (which would be the same situation for Group Policy Management Console).
Follow the guidelines in this Microsoft Article under the heading Turn off scanning of SYSVOL files to exclude the SYSVOL from the Antivirus Scanning
This can cause the error The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process within GPOADmin during such actions as Checkout.
This error can be reproduced in GPMC by backing up the GPO and then importing the settings, all within the Group Policy Management Console
It was also reported by in some rare cases with McAffee, the console could fail to load.
