Description

A DB2 agent was installed using a DB2 user with SYSADM permissions, but it is not the instance owner.

The permission check verified that user is sysadm and then skipped the permission check. When the DB2 agent was activated, missing permissions related errors were found in the agent log file and collections did not run. Many permissions were reported to be missing.
Cause

In version DB2 10.1 and higher, SYSADM users do not automatically get DBADM or DATAACCESS permissions and hence cannot access data within the database.

Résolution

WORKAROUND
Add DBADM and DATAACCESS permissions to the Foglight DB2 agent monitoring account.
STATUS
A defect ID DB2FOG-74 has been logged to change the check permissions to identify if the DB2 agent monitoring account has DBADM and DATAACCESS instead of sysadm. This will be done separately for each database and not at the instance level.
