To suppress discovery errors, do the following:
Open Configuration Manager and go to Manage Discoveries.
Click a discovery that has an error associated with it, and click the "Last run status" field for that discovery.
Navigate to a task that has an error you wish to suppress, select it and click either "View Errors" near the right of the screen, or click the number in the "Errors" column.
In the window that comes up, select the error type you wish to suppress, and the click "Add suppression" in the upper right-hand corner.
You will get a similar window that appears.
From here, you can narrow down exactly what to suppress in the future:
1. This specifies whether to match all objects, or only the object referenced in the error.
In this example, this is a computer object.
2. This specifies whether to match all object types, or only the object type referenced in the error.
In this example, the "Object type" is "Computer".
3. This specifies whether to match any error message, or the error message referenced in the error.
In this example, the computer is unreachable, and we want to suppress any computer that is unreachable for this discovery.
This would be a common suppression for "Registry" and "Computer" discoveries.
4. This specifies whether to match the "problem" specified in the error text, or any "problem" in the error text.
In this example, the "problem" is not very informative, and it would be good to suppress for all "problems"
5. This text is generating when selecting the above options, and outlines what will be suppressed based on the options chosen.
You can use this to verify the options you selected above is exactly what you want to suppress.
To summarize, the options I chose will suppress any error that results from a computer being offline or unreachable for the "Registry" discovery.
