Unhandled exception occurs when verifying SharePoint credentials when completing the SharePoint Auditing template in Change Auditor Client window. -
Description
Attempting to verify SharePoint credentials when completing the Sharepoint Auditing template, an 'Object already exists.' Unhandled Exception is received and Client crashes. Error typically occurs at the "Scanning Sharepoint Topology" task in the auditing wizard. -
Cause
UAC is blocking the credential verification, permissions are incorrect, or the site is inaccessible or corrupted. -
Résolution
WORKAROUND
1. Run the Change Auditor Client as administrator to be able to complete the credential verification and the template configuration.
2. Verify that Change Auditor is using the account that is being used to log into the farm when creating the template.Verify that the user account has full access to all SharePoint sites and read permissions on all SharePoint SQL databases.
3. Try connecting to the Site via a browser from the client machine and the agent machine, if not, this may be an indication that the Site is corrupted. Deleting the site and pointing to a valid, uncorrupted site will resolve this issue.
