How to enable Action debug (4257971)

Action debug can be increased to investigate problems with rule actions.

Following are the steps to gather action debug data:

1. Add the following registry variables with the Type of "Boolean" under the Administration > Rules & Notifications > Manage Registry Variables dashboard depending on the action debug data required:
   • BSMAction_debug
   • CommandAction_debug
   • EmailAction_debug
   • IntegrationAction_debug
   • RemoteCommandAction_debug
   • RequestTracesAction_debug
   • ScriptAction_debug
   • Send SNMP Trap Action_debug
   • ExecuteCommandOnRemoteHostsAction_debug
2. Set the value of the *Action_debug variable to true for the action types you would like to gather debug for.
3. Issue the following command from the %FMSHOME%/bin directory to enable the Action debug logging:

   fms --add-debug-level com.quest.nitro.service.action.ActionService=2

4. Wait for the issue to be duplicated and then gather the Management Server logs or the FMS support bundle.
5. Issue the following command from the %FMSHOME%/bin directory to disable the Action debug logging:

   fms --add-debug-level com.quest.nitro.service.action.ActionService=0
