Continually rebooting after upgrading to Windows 10 (4280267)

After an upgrade to Windows 10, Desktop Authority (DA) continually reboots.

This entry may be shown in the SLTrace file “$InstalledEmbargoVersion[]”
This will cause USB/Port Security (USBPS) to attempt to reinstall and reboot at each logon. 

During the upgrade process Windows removed some registry settings which corrupts the installation of USBPS. This is caused by the Windows upgrade and not USBPS. This Microsoft issue occurs on upgrades to Windows 10 both 1607 and 1703 "Creators Update".

STATUS:

Upgrade to the current version of Desktop Authority prior to upgrading to Windows 10.

This issue has been addressed in DA version 10.2 by the script performing an automated fix if it appears that the USB Port/Security driver was installed but then subsequently partially removed by an OS upgrade.  The latest version of Desktop Authority can be downloaded here.

WORKAROUND:

If the machine has already been upgraded to Windows 10 with a version of Desktop Authority prior to 10.2, and USBPS was installed, then USBPS will need to be removed and reinstalled. Because of the corruption of the USBPS install, attempting to uninstall it using Programs and Features may fail. However, it is expected that the script in DA version 10.2 can self heal the installation of the USB driver even after the damage is done.  If any additional information is needed, please Contact Technical Support for assistance.
