Error: “Could not find domain controller for this domain” when attempting to change password from
Description

When attempting to change a domain user password from the vWorkspace Management Console the error “Could not find domain controller for this domain” is displayed.
Cause

This can occur if the domain specified in the Web-IT Admin page is not NetBIOS or if the Password Management Server is not able to resolve the domain correctly
Resolution

To resolve the above error ensure the following configuration is correct
1. From the Web-IT Admin Page ensure that the Password Management Server configuration lists the domain in NetBIOS format.
a. Example: ‘DOMAIN’ instead of ‘DOMAIN.COM’
2. From the Password Management Server open a command prompt and perform a NSLookup for the domain name to ensure it is able to successfully resolve to the domain controllers.
Issue may also be caused by the corrupt DNS information. Please check if DNS has record for the PDC emulator.
