LiteSpeed uses the SLSStats service, which displays as "LiteSpeed Activity Service" in the Windows Management Console | Services, which it used to update the LiteSpeedLocal to the LightSpeedCentral database. The service can be configured to logon as either Local System, or WIndows Authentication.
If a trusted domain user account is used for the service logon, but the account does not have sufficient access to the server's Windows registry, the error "Evaluation Expired" may display (even though a permanent LiteSpeed license has been added through the LiteSpeed Registration module).
The logon for the LiteSpeed Activity Service does not have the required privileges to access the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > IMCEDA > SQLLITESPEED > ENGINE in the Windows registry.
WORKAROUND:
Access the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > IMCEDA > SQLLITESPEED > ENGINE
Right click and choose "Permissions" and add the user account that owns SQL Server. Note, the user must have local administrator rights.
