Backups failing with, "Error: 2258 - FATAL cifs_cant_mkdir CIFS can't create the directory... (Illegal seek) [at cifs_mkdir:653]". In this case other errors manifested as well including, "Error: 2651 - FATAL cifs_cant_write_detail CIFS can't write localhost;CIFSuser@10.6.24.77/PathToVar (Connection timed out) [at handle_error:80]". We also saw disk warnings on the repository machine in the Windows Event Log, Event ID 51. It looked like, "An error was detected on device \Device\DeviceName during a paging operation."
原因
An issue with the repository disk caused vRanger to report the above error. The exact issue was not identified.
解决办法
The customer ran check disk /f on the repository volume and this allowed event log to be free of Warnings and backups to be successful.
