Can Secure Copy delete the Source volume after job completes? (4319674)

After data migration, can Secure Copy be configured to purge files from the source file server that were copied?

By design, Secure Copy will never alter or purge files from the source file server for a copy job.

Secure Copy does not keep a table of files copied for reconciliation purposes.  While there are a couple ways to use Secure Copy to purge files from the source.  Quest Support will not be able to assist with testing this task.

1. Create a new copy job that uses the original source volume as a target volume.
2. Write a script or batch file which deletes the desired files and designate the job as a "Post-Migration Task" in the 'Other File Options' tab of the Secure Copy console.

NOTE: Use extreme caution if choosing the option to run a Post-Migration Task. It would be a simple matter to unintentionally delete an entire file system. Only perform this option against file systems that have been backed up and the task has been tested.
