Customer couldn't use the Mac GUI to install NetVault as this wouldn't work, so used the command line to upgrade NetVault Backup (KBA on how to install NVBU via the Terminal).
Now a “This is not a rebranding upgrade” error message appears, as customer upgraded before and failed, then left NVBU as it was i.e. in an incorrectly functioning state.
Perform the following steps...
1] Uninstall NetVault as per the NetVault Installation Guide.
2] Delete two files (com.bakbone.netvault.plist and com.bakbone.netvault.bom in /var/db/receipts/).
3] Install NVBU 8.5.3 as per the NetVault Installation Guide, making sure that it has the same NetVault Name as before.
4] Add the device where the NVDB backup resides on and scan the media.
5] Restore the NVDB.
6] Follow the Command Line installation KBA to upgrade to NVBU 8.6.1.
