A situation whereby mail sync jobs appear very slow or even stopped. The agents are running but have mail counts from source to target which are not complete. The mail agents may not report non indicative errors. You may see errors that state things such as "Network problems were reported in a problem which prevented logon" or MAPI errors such as "MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER".
Low virtual memory in the target or source exchange servers may be to fault. Low virtual memory can be responsible for a system to slow down and even generate MAPI errors.
Increase virtual memory on the Exchange server, or the agent server in question, and reboot the machine. Attempt reconnecting to ensure the issues have cleared up.
