Assumptions that need to be made.
Replicator and SharePoint have been installed using default settings and installed as per manufacturers instructions.
First of all we have to stop the Metalogix Replicator Services in the services menu screen shot below.
Once these have been stopped we need to navigate to the install folder for replicator and the path is normally as below:
In here you will find a file titled “Syntergy.Replicator.Service.exe.config” open this with notepad scrolling from the top roll down until you see the line:
<add name=ExecutionTrace” value=”off”/>
Change this to read
<add name=ExecutionTrace” value=”verbose”/>
Then save the file.
The execution trace will be saved to the following location C:\ with the file name executiontrace.csv.
Now the change has been made we need to start the two replicator services again so back into services and start the ones we stopped earlier this will start the collection of information.
Once you have finished doing the trace repeat the steps above but change verbose back to off and restart the services you will then see that the execution trace file is not growing anymore and can be sent to metalogix for analysis.
Best Practice is to run the trace for a minimum of five minutes while the issue is occurring, run the trace longer if the issue is intermittent.
