The problem occurs because of a bug in earlier versions of VDDK. The VDDK causes a timeout when it does not execute a read for three minutes. When using CBT, the filter file for disk may have an excessive length of zeros (indicating a no-read action), these no read states stretch on until a time-out occurs.
This situation is compounded, in some cases, by not using compression. This issue is fixed in vRanger 5.2.xx, where a new version (1.2.1) of VDDK is being used.
Two possible resolutions:
1.) The work around is to turn off CBT on the VM's which are receiving this 3208 Error.
2.) Upgrade vRanger to 5.2.x version (When available)
