We changed server name of the vRanger server and now we can't log in to vRanger. It comes back with Error: Cannot connect to service.
Because vRanger's name is hard coded in to SQL database, the service is looking for the old server name to connect to.
Go to: All Programs>Quest Software>vRanger>vRanger Database
Chose second option from the top "Install/Upgrade vRanger SQL Database"
After above wizard completes, open vRanger
Remove and re-add all of your repositories.
Note:When prompted select "Import or Update"
Delete/Remove and recreate all backup/replication jobs.
Note: Your retention cycle will start from the beginning and old backup will not be automatically deleted. Please manually remove them from repository when they are no longer needed.
