How to force the agent to use a specific Coordinator
说明
An Administrator needs to force the Agent to connect to only one designated Coordinator in their Active Directory Forest.
原因
The normal behavior is of the Agent is to search the Service Connection Points (SCP) and connect to all or fail-over to any available Coordinators
解决办法
To force the agent to one specific Coordinator:
Open regedit on the Agent server
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Quest\ChangeAuditor\Agent
Create a new String value named RepositorySCP
Set the value to the DN of the Service Connection Point (SCP) of the Coordinator. For example: CN=Quest.ChangeAuditor.Coordinator,CN=Server1,CN=Computers,DC=domain,DC=com
Note: The SCP DN can be found by using ADSIEdit.msc, navigating to where the Coordinator server object is located in AD, selecting the Computer name and then right clicking CN=ChangeAuditor.Coordinator and selecting Properties, double click distinguishedName and copy the string.
Restart the Agent
OR
Right click the Agent System tray icon and select Agent Status. if it is not shown in the System tray go to C:\Program Files\Quest\ChangeAuditor\Agent\ and run ServiceStatusTray.exe by right clicking and selecting Run As Administrator
With the Agent status open press Alt+m to open the agent Maintenance Settings
Select the Agent tab
Enter the DN of the SCP of the Coordinator
Click OK and Apply
其他信息
The default behavior of the agent is to failover to any other available Coordinator, if the Coordinator that it is currently connected to becomes unavailable. This is the same behavior even if the agent is forced to use a specific Coordinator. To force the agent to not failover if its existing Coordinator connection fails, please see the following KB:
