- Check the Coordinator Configuration to verify the SQL Server name, Instance (if applicable) and the Database Catalog name
- On the CA server, right click the Coordinator System Tray icon and select Coordinator Configiuration
- Confirm the SQL Server name and and Database name
- Uninstall the agents first:
- Open the Change Auditor Client
- Click view | deployment
- Click the drop down in the tool bar that shows DCs and select All
- Right click on the installed/active/inactive agents and click uninstall. Note: you can select all agents and right click to Uninstall all at once
- Agents can also be removed from each server by selecting to Uninstall the agent from Programs and Features on each server
- Uninstall the Coordinator by removing it from Programs and Features or by starting the Change Auditor installation Autorun.exe, selecting Install Change Auditor Coordinator and then selecting to remove it
- Uninstall the Change Auditor Client(s) by removing it from Programs and Features or by starting the Change Auditor installation Autorun.exe, selecting Install Change Auditor Client and then selecting to remove it
- Uninstall the Change Auditor Web Client by removing it from Programs and Features or by starting the Change Auditor installation Autorun.exe, selecting Install Change Auditor Web Client and then selecting to remove it
- Once the Coordinator is uninstalled check in ADSIEdit for the computer object for that server and verify that there is no Service Connection Point objects left behind (should be removed by the Coordinator uninstall)
- Open ADSIEdit.msc on a machine where it is available (All DCs should have it)
- Locate the Computer object for the Coordinator server and expand it
- Confirm the 2 ChangeAuditor Service Connection Points are no longer listed
- After Replication in the Domain is completed there should no longer be any reference to the CA instance
- Remove the Database noted in step 1 if you do not have a need to keep the historical information or if you will not be using the same database if you reinstall later
When you are having multiple coordinators and want to remove domain controller, just make sure if you have separate coordinator for each domain and if yes, shutting down Domain controller will not work, you will have to remove Change Auditor for that particular domain controller.
