Issue
Can Binary Tree offer a methodology or script for migrating user folders which have been created as a Private folder?
When we migrate the mail file the private folders do not migrate because of the $Reader field in the folder. The only person who can read the private folder is the user who created it. Because the Notes admin ID being used to do the migration cannot see the private folder, the folders are skipped but the documents stored within them are migrated.
Documents which are in a private folder will migrated to the "Unfiled" folder in Outlook as they are still in the All documents view.
Solution
This functionality is included in the current version of Notes Migrator
We have included a "Message Template" document to add to your current Notes Migrator.nsf database;
Once this document is copied to your application, a notification can be sent to the user to convert their private folders to full access before the migration.
Note: This agent was not created by and is not supported by Binary Tree.
When each user runs the 'Private Folder' conversion using this button (before the migration) then each private folder will be viewable by the migration ID, and will be migrated to the destination mailbox.
Download the attached file
In the attached database is the message template.
This is simple blank .nsf file containing one document
Copy and paste this document into the Notes Migrator database under the "Message Templates" view.
Select the users you want to run this agent.
Change their migration status to 'Notify", so they appear in the "Send End User Notifications" view
One the users are in this view, select the documents, and click the "Send User Notifications" view action button.
Select the new notification document template.
Notify your users to open this email, and click the button within.
If their mail file is local, they will need to replicate to the Domino server.
Once this is complete, you can run their migration.
