For Archive Manager 5.6 or greater
With AM 5.6 and greater there is no longer a separate remote ESM service, If you wish to install a second ESM service (Remote), You just run the Archive Manager 5.6 installer and only choose the ESM service component to install.
You must ensure the prerequisites are met on the server on the site you would like to collect from:

2. Click the install tab, Click Install.
3. On the SQL Server settings page of the install wizard specify your existing SQL Server, Authentication and current database name and click next.
4. On the installed features page it will check the current database and list all currently installed features, including those features on other AM servers, Click next
5. On the Log folder page specify the log location and click next,
6. On the Destination folder page specify the install directory and click next,
7. On the Custom setup page deselect everything except the "Exchange Store Manager" service and click next,
8. If the MAPI/CDO needs to be installed on this server check the box to download and install and click next.
9. Review the summary page and click next.
10.Click install, Click Finish
To configure the Remote ESM:
Note: The store manager group is specified in the properties on your mail servers.
Open the Archive Manager website > Administration > Mail Servers and find the mail server you want this service to collect from, Click the little blue edit button beside it and where it says 'Store Manager Group' change it from 'default' to your new group name.
