Metadata timeout error protecting AppAssure Agent
Protecting an AppAssure Agent results in a Timout of 5 Minutes with a Metadata call failure to respond by remote Host.
Possible Errors on the Agent can resemble the errors below:

原因
Root Cause is VDS took too long to respond to the request of the CORE to provide Metadata to complete the protection process. -
解决办法
The AppAssure Agent default setting for build 5.3.7 and all previous builds use VDS to determine Metadata on the volume\disk in order to correctly acquire the correct information to reflect the protected data. This process can sometimes take a long time depending on the VDS service, so by enabling WMI a quicker response can resultSolution:- Go to machine with the AppAssure Agent, run regedit -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AppRecovery\Agent\AgentSettings.
- Add DWORD key - DisableVdsServiceMetadata, Value data - 1(no VDS metadata).
- Go to machine with the AppAssure Core, run regedit -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AppRecovery\Core\CoreSettings.
- Add DWORD key - DisableVdsServiceMetadata, Value data - 1(not used VDS metadata).
- After the changes have been made to the registry Protect the Agent.
- If protecting the Agent fails - change Value data to 0 of DisableVdsServiceMetadata on Core and Agent.
- If protecting the Agent still fails, then please contact support.
