How to configure Exchange database mountability and log truncation.

This article serves as a guide for users seeking to configure Exchange database mountability and log truncation.

NOTE: Mountability checks and log truncation features only apply to Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2010 and 2013.

NOTE: The AppAssure 5 agent service account must be assigned the Organizational Administrator role in Microsoft Exchange to configure Exchange database mountability and log truncation.

Complete the following steps to configure Exchange database mountability and log truncation.

1. In the AppAssure 5 Core console, select the machine for which you wish to configure mountability checks and log truncation.
2. On the Summary tab, click Exchange Server Settings.
3. Select or clear the following Exchange Server settings based on the needs of your organization:
   • Enable automatic mountability check
   • Enable nightly checksum check
   • Automatically truncate Exchange logs after successful checksum check
   • Truncate logs before checksum check completes
4. Click OK.

The summary will show the checks and truncation options change from the "Disabled" status to "Not yet performed".

The status will display the timestamp of the last check and truncation after the tasks have occured.
