The US Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPACT) changes the rules for Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the United States of America to start on the second Sunday in March and end on the first Sunday in November starting in 2007. The start date for DST in the US was previously the first Sunday of April and the end date was the last Sunday of October.
Will my applications built with XRT libraries need any patches to those libraries to be compliant with these new rules?
All XRT products are reliant on the Operating System they run on to properly report DST changes. All functions in XRT used to calculate a time value or string for labelling call mktime() with the is_dst field in the tm structure set to -1 so the OS attempts to resolve this based on present data.
If your OS is properly patched to update the DST rules, then you will have no problems with any of the XRT products.
