Automated task execution (for example shutDown task) aborts with this error:
"DC connection failed A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time 10060"
This only happens intermittently to a proportion of VDI's in a farm.
When the broker is multihomed with more than one network card, the priority of the Network cards may not be set correctly, therefore the packets sent to the VDI's are not successful in reaching their target.
Change the priority of the Network cards so that the NIC that connects directly to the VDI's has the greater priority.
This is found in the adaptor settings, under the Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network Connections (2008 R2)
Press the ALT key and Click on Advanced - Advanced Settings.
Choose the desired priority of the connections.
You can also set the Metrics of each NIC under the IPv4 (TCP/IP) settings to specify a higher priority for one NIC other another one:

"Interface metric provides a location for you to type a value for the interface metric for this network connection. A lower value for the interface metric indicates a higher priority for use of this interface."
