When using the vWorkspace Desktop Pool Auto-Expand feature you may see the error ‘Group Auto-expand failed to create any virtual machine: Invalid number of desktops specified’. This error will be seen to populate the Windows Application event log on the connection broker server, it will also appear once every minute, per desktop group, in the connection broker log.
NOTE: The actual problem is only a reporting error, this does not prevent the VM’s being created in accordance with the group auto-expand settings specified.
The event log message will appear as:

WORKAROUND:
The problem does not actually affect the creation of new VM’s or the behaviour of the auto-expand feature. This is a defect that falsely reports the errors in the Application event log, it can be triggered by setting certain values in the auto-expand options, using other values may stop these errors from being reported.
STATUS:
The defect has been submitted to the vWorkspace development team for consideration in a future version of vWorkspace
