Unable to publish a desktop group from the “Other Servers” node. -
Description
When creating a published desktop in the vWorkspace Management Console the Publishing tab does not display the “Other Servers” desktop groups.

Cause
This occurs because the “Other Servers” node is used to add servers that are managed through the vWorkspace Management Console, but are not going to be logged into by users.

Resolution
To have the Desktop Group detected by the Publishing tab when creating a published desktop, recreate the Desktop Group under the “Desktops” node in the vWorkspace Management Console.

Additional Information
Typical management tasks that would be used for the “Other Servers” node would include managing power states, managing MSI Packages, copying files or executing scripts. The types of servers might include file and print servers, web servers, database servers and mail servers.
The Quest Data Collector Service is automatically installed on any computer added to a computer group under “Other Servers”, just like desktops. However, since the intent is to not have users logon to these computers, there is no menu option to install Virtual Desktop Extensions (PNTools).
