The Foglight for Virtual Desktops (F4VD) environment is being monitored with one FglAM (embedded). After 45 minutes of successful collection, the data collection stops. There are multiple Out of Memory and lock behaviour error messages in the FglAM and agent log files.
The recommendation is to install two additional FglAMs on a dedicated machine. The advice is that each external FglAM should be granted 1GB of memory. Once the two additional FglAMs have been created, release the credential lock box to them using the F4VD user interface as usual. Using the discovery wizard, load balance the monitoring of the components as follows:
The standard rule of thumb for Foglight for Virtual Desktops (F4VD) is that each FglAM should monitor no more than 50 components. This threshold, however, will vary according to the resources available to the FglAM. Spreading the load across a number of FglAMs should help to avoid the resource contention that causes the execution of the locking code to become problematic. This locking behaviour of the agents has been reworked in the next release of F4VD, so this shouldn't be a problem in future releases.
