When attempting to add a new repository into the current instance of vRanger you receive the following error message when trying to authenticate:Failed to connect to repository. Please verify your credentials (if applicable), and ensure the directory path is correct.
This error message can normally be attributed to authentication issues with the account being used to access the repository physical location. The account being used is not the account configured to run the vRanger services, but the problem can be seen with active windows firewall & firewall profiles in the environment. You will need to remove the firewall & the firewall profiles from the vRanger machine to be able to authenticate correctly.
Verify that you do not have one of the following profiles active on the vRanger computer : Domain Profile, Private Profile, or Public Profile
Open an Administrator: Command Prompt. To do so, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
At the command prompt, type the following command:
netsh advfirewall set "profiles" state off
******where profiles is AllProfiles, CurrentProfile, DomainProfile, PrivateProfile, or PublicProfile******
