When trying to replicate a VM in vRanger 5.0 Backup & Replication, the replica fails to be created at the target host site.
The replication fails almost immediately, and no replica VM is created on the target ESX host. The error in the job log reads:
"An internal error occurred during execution, please contact Vizioncore support if the error persists. Error Message: Not initialized: string fileName"
There is some problem on the virtual hardware of the source VM that renders it impossible to enumerate and create a new VM on the target ESX host. In other words, something configured on the source VM cannot be interpreted/created by the target host on the other side of the replication. Steps to check this/address:
1. Go to "Edit Settings" on the source VM.
2. Examine the virtual hardware of the VM for anything that cannot be interpreted/configured by the target host. Examples of this would be permanently-mounted virtual floppy/drives / CD Drives that are pointed at an ISO image at the source site.
3. If a permanent virtual floppy/CD mount exists, remove it from the source VM (i.e. change it to "client device").
4. Re-run the replication; it should now proceed normally.
